I've a quick question

I will be coming to US on L2 visa and planning to apply EAD. I will come to US on sabitical leave and dn't want to resign my job back in India.

Now question is :

1. Can I apply for a EAD with having a job back in India ?
2. If I apply with my job back in India , will this can harm my wife job who is working in L1. As her US manager says, I 've to resign for the Indian job before applying for a job in US.
