I am planning to marry in NJ. Me and my fiancee are both non-immigrants (H1B and OPT respectively). I have figured out the process of getting married in NJ. I also know (from murthy forum itself), that the marriage certicate issued by NJ, USA would be valid in India too. My question is this - Upon returning to India, whenever I need to furnish proof of my marriage, would the US certificate suffice everywhere in India? Or would there be some offices in India that require an Indian certificate; in which case what's the process of re-registering my marriage in India too (upon furnishing USA marriage certificate as an evidence). Would I need to furnish any other evidence apart from the US marriage certificate? Or is it that all this would not be required? Any information, website links etc will be very useful. Thank you.
