While you are in the grace period, you are still in J-1 status. If you are eligible for a change of status otherwise, your application for change of status would be timely if filed within the grace period.

J1 waiver

Hi Friends,
I am trying to file for the J1 waiver for my wife. I have generated the DS 3035 from the Government website. It says that we send stuff to 2 addresses. The area where I am confused is whether we have to get some document from India?
What I understood from the website is that the Indian embassy in DC should give the NOC. Could anybody clarify on this? apart from the website generated documents and copies of Passsport and DS 2019 what are the other things to be done.

My wife came here for an undergrad internship

Thanks a lot
Cherima
